Webinar: Unearthing Stories: Drayton Hall’s Enslaved Community in Archaeology and Archives

Join us on September 18 for a thoughtful conversation about the power of artifacts and documents to tell more complete stories of life and community at Drayton Hall in the past. How might butchered bones represent skill and decision-making among enslaved people? What can we learn about the practice of medicine, and who had access to such knowledge?

A team of Drayton Hall researchers will answer these questions and more using selected artifacts and archival records that offer compelling glimpses into the personal experiences of people who lived on the plantation. Together, we’ll explore how these materials are interpreted to recover dignity and agency from sources created during an era of oppression.

This is a Donate What You Can Event presented by Drayton Hall Preservation Trust. A link for live viewing will be sent after you register.
