Evensong

Join us for Solemn Evensong celebrating Candlemas (The Feast of the Presentation of our Lord in the Temple) on February 1, 2026 at 4 pm at The Chapel of Saint John the Divine

This year we will be celebrating the Feast of the Presentation (or Candlemas) during Evensong on Sunday, February 1, the Eve of the Presentation at 4:00 p.m. The choir will be singing 'Hodie beata Virgo' by William Byrd, the Versicles, Responses and Lord's Prayer by Herbert Sumsion, the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in G Major by Herbert Sumsion, and 'Maria das Jungfräuelein (When to the temple Jesus went) by Johann Eccard.
