Harper Creek Community Schools is proud to announce that the district’s outdoor athletic complex will be officially named the Ed Greenman Athletic Facility, in recognition of Mr. Greenman’s remarkable career and lasting impact as a coach, athletic director, and principal.
The dedication ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 28, prior to the varsity football home opener against Lakeview High School. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m., with a community reception hosted by the Athletic Department from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. near the soccer field. All well-wishers are welcome to attend; hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Ed Greenman began his career at Harper Creek in 1985 as the adult education coordinator and varsity football coach. Over the course of his 30-year tenure as head football coach (1985–2014), Greenman built one of the most successful programs in the region, compiling an impressive 203–108 record. Under his leadership, the Harper Creek football team achieved:
• 18 MHSAA playoff appearances
• 11 conference championships
• 5 district titles
• 4 regional championships
• 6 undefeated regular seasons (1988, 1994–1996, 2000, 2011)
• Four Final Four finishes
Beyond the football field, Mr. Greenman served as Harper Creek’s athletic director, where he played a key role in the 2008 renovation and expansion of the athletic complex. He later transitioned into school administration, serving as high school principal until his retirement in June 2025.
