St. Francis of Assisi Feast Day – Blessing of the Animals
“Lord, make us instruments of your peace.” These opening words of the prayer attributed to St. Francis remind us of his deep love for God’s creation. Each year on October 4, Christians around the world celebrate his Feast Day.
To honor St. Francis, best known for his care for all creatures, we invite you to join us at Resurrection for our Blessing of the Animals:
🐾 Saturday, October 4 at 4:00 p.m.
Bring your furry, feathered, or scaly friends to receive a blessing. (We kindly ask that pets who may be aggressive or anxious remain at home.)
📍 Weather Plan:
Light rain – gather under the bell on the portico at the great doors.
Heavy rain/wind – meet in the parish hall.
🛠️ Work Day Update:
Our parish work day scheduled for Saturday, October 4 at 9 a.m. has been postponed to Saturday, October 11 at 9 a.m.
Come celebrate the joy of St. Francis, and the blessing of our beloved companions!
