What Is Connective Tissue?
- Connective tissue or fascia covers and supports the muscles throughout our entire body.
- Visually, think of connective tissue like the white fuzzy layer underneath an orange peel. This tissue is densely woven throughout our muscles, bones, nerves, arteries, veins and organs. It is a continuous structure throughout the body truly interconnecting every part.
My Tissue Stores Emotions?
- In traditional Chinese medicine every area of the body is connected to a meridian line or energy channel. Each meridian is connected to a different organ, and every organ is associated with an emotion.
- Say I have pain in my outer hip. Pain in this area of the body indicates disharmony in the liver meridian, and the emotion associated with the liver is anger.
What Will I Learn At This Workshop?
- You’ll learn to see the body as more than just connective tissue, muscle, bones, and joints. The body is truly a master teacher, and when there is inner disharmony it’s our job to learn how to listen.
- We have many options as to how to work with meridians. We can use compression, stretching, and/or twisting.
- This workshop will teach you myofascial release techniques, yin yoga postures, and simple acupressure points that you can use to help move stuck energy within your body.
