Love Makes a Family Panel Discussion

In conjunction with the photo exhibit Love Makes a Family currently on display in our Upper Room Art Gallery, St. Paul’s is hosting an informal panel discussion featuring families with LGBTQIA+ members from our community who will share their stories. On Wednesday, July 30, from 6:30–7:30 p.m., we will learn from panelists including State Senator Liz Bennett, State Representative Aime Wichtendahl, Cedar Rapids At-Large Council Member David Maier, and community members Barb Hanson, Selenthia Jeffers, and Luke Lovegood. Our goal is to learn more about diverse families—who they are (our neighbors!), what advances they've seen, and what kinds of challenges they still face (or maybe backward steps they've seen). We will learn more about how everyone can support diverse families in our community. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Join us as we learn more about how love makes a family!
