Derecho Five-Year Anniversary

Join the City of Cedar Rapids for a special gathering reflecting on the 2020 Derecho and progress made since through the help of community support and partnerships.

As part of the ceremony, the City will plant a tree to symbolize resilience, renewal, and recovery, highlighting the community’s progress and investment since the storm.

In addition, event attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the City’s Neighborhood P.A.C.T. (Prepare, Act, Communicate, Train) program, which empowers residents to be ready and resilient in the face of future emergencies and natural disasters.
