Introduction: James Denney, with 17 years of fire service experience, holds certifications as an advanced structure firefighter, instructor II, advanced aircraft rescue firefighter, and driver operator-pumper. As an Engineer on Engine 7 in Del Rio, Texas, he focuses on optimizing low-staffing engine operations, including hose deployment, placement, advancement, single-man forcible entry, truck work from the engine, and pump operation. He is currently the President of Rio Grande FOOLS.
Class description: Objectives for the firefighter pump operator include understanding basic pump operations, water supply management, and hydraulic principles. This involves knowing how to operate the pump effectively, handle water sources like hydrants and drafting, and apply hydraulics
