We are delighted to welcome Michael Gabriele, who will present his newest book:
Colonial Taverns of New Jersey: Libations, Liberty and Revolution
As New Jersey served as the “Crossroads of the American Revolution,” colonial taverns became vital gathering places—centers of political debate, local governance, and Revolutionary planning. They welcomed travelers, hosted community meetings, and even served as temporary headquarters for George Washington.
Most notably, the Indian King Tavern in Haddonfield was where New Jersey officially declared statehood in 1777.
Join us as Gabriele explores how these historic establishments shaped the social and political fabric of the time. 🍻🇺🇸
