🎒 This Sunday’s Shenanigans: Lower Lowder Ponds Hike! 🥾
This Sunday, we’re off to Lower Lowder Ponds — yes, ponds, plural! We’ll hit up to six of them on a gorgeous 5-ish mile hike that’s moderately challenging but highly beautiful. One time we even saw a massive herd of elk. (They didn’t RSVP, though, so no promises.)
Meet-up:
We’ll meet at the Smith's Marketplace in Cedar City (next to the gas pumps) at 9:30 AM. We’ll carpool from there, so no worries if you’ve got a low-riding car — just hop in with someone who has a little more clearance 😄.
There is a stretch of dirt road, but it’s usually in good shape.
Bonus:
While it’ll be triple digits in St. George, you can expect a refreshing low 70s all day up there — perfect hiking weather!
Post-Hike Rewards:
After the hike, we’ll swing by Pizanos Pizza in Brian Head for lunch and some well-earned relaxation.
Bring water, a snack, and your sense of adventure (and maybe elk whispering skills).
See you Sunday!
The Legal Stuff (aka, the fine print no one reads):
The Blue Zone (TBZ) organizers are not tour guides or park rangers—so if you're expecting someone to point out where the bear is or offer a detailed history of the rocks, you're on your own. Think of this as the “don’t do anything dumb” hike. You’re responsible for your own safety and well-being, so channel your inner adventurer (and maybe your inner cautious person too).
By signing up for this TBZ event, you’re admitting that hiking and other outdoor activities can be risky, possibly resulting in serious injury (or worse, running out of snacks). You’re also agreeing that the TBZ organizers and all past, present, and future members are not responsible for anything that happens—whether it’s a sprained ankle or your selfie stick breaking.
You’re coming to these events at your own risk, and you’re fully responsible for anything that happens to your property, yourself, or that person you brought along for the ride (who may or may not also be clumsy).
By signing up for this TBZ event, you’re saying you understand this disclaimer and agree not to blame us if you trip, fall, or accidentally end up on the wrong trail (we’re not your personal GPS).
