Calling for initial photo submissions for our second annual Juried Fabric Arts Show. This year we will be highlighting knitted and crocheted items.
Submit your hand knitted sweaters, scarves, hats, gloves or socks to be judged for display in our Gallery at the library.
Description
Calling all knitters of all ages to participate in an adjudicated knitting show . Submit your hand knit work to be chosen to be on display for the art gallery show in February. Any age can participate. There are two category of submissions: Sweaters and Accessories including scarfs, mittens, hats, wraps, and socks. No unusually large items such as blankets or extra large shawls please. Work must be your own!!
Here's how it works:
1. Submit a photo of your hand made knits and crocheted items that you wish to enter by emailing them to
cmpvc2VwaCB8IG1pZHlvcmsgISBvcmc= or by dropping your photo off at the circulation desk no later than January 5th. Please include all your contact details: Name, email, phone number along with a brief paragraph stating 1. What yarn you used. 2. What pattern you used or if you did a self design. 3. What you liked about making this item, or why you chose this item for submission. 4. Any other information you want to include about knitting or crocheting
2. Our judges will use the photos to determine which items should be brought in for further consideration and to be hung in the Gallery during the month of February. If your item has been chosen you will be contacted by January 15th. Items chosen from photos should be brought in no later than January 20th. to be viewed in person by our judges.
3. Prizes will be awarded for various categories.
4. There will be an artist reception for all participants and the public on February 4th. You are encouraged to wear your hand knit items as a sort of walking exhibition!
