Duke Frederick has staged a coup and taken over his brother's court, and when he banishes his niece Rosalind, she flees with her cousin Celia into the Forest of Arden. Ungoverned by the court's strict rules, the forest's inhabitants find community in nature, the freedom to explore new identities, forge unexpected friendships and fall in love with strangers.
This version of As You Like It by The Oxted Players invites the audience to experience Shakespeare's timeless romantic comedy through the lens of 1970s culture—an era defined by its rejection of traditional norms, embrace of individuality, and celebration of love in all its forms.
