Once upon a time, a French-Canadian named Simon fell in love with the Cowlitz Princess Veronica… A little old nun was held up at gunpoint by stagecoach robbers, but pulled a fast one on them… The sun never rose and all of SW Washington was ominously covered in darkness for two days… Winlock burned to the ground, HOW many times?!… Local fisherman makes the catch of a lifetime (a 100 year old statue of Saint Joseph, preserved by the mud)!

Hear these stories and more in the new 2025 local history retelling by Emma Turrentine, 100 Years: The Story of a century of Old Sacred Heart & the century of Christianity Which Preceded, written to honor the Centennial Year of Historic Sacred Heart Church, Winlock. All proceeds go to the Sacred Heart Preservation Foundation nonprofit organization.
