Speaker: Raychelle Cassada Lohmann, Ph.D, NCC, LCMHCS

Dr. Lohmann earned her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from North Carolina State University, as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Counselor Education. With over 25 years of experience in school and clinical mental health counseling, Dr. Lohmann has dedicated her career to supporting children, adolescents, parents, and educators. Her deep passion for counseling drives her mission to “help others transform their lives from the inside out.” Dr. Lohmann cofounded Harbor Counseling and Consulting, PLLC, and All Purpose Living, LLC.

Topics to be covered:

What bullying is and isn’t in elementary, middle, and high school.

How to discuss bullying with your child.

Signs someone is being bullied in elementary, middle, and high school.

Addressing child bullying: When to let them handle it on their own, when to intervene, and the role the school system should play in resolving this issue.

Is there a difference in bullying according to gender and/or disabilities/sexual orientation, etc.

What if your child is bullying others? What do you do then? Where do you get help?

Cyber Bullying: What it involves, how it occurs, what can be done to make it stop, the relationship between cyber bullying and mental health (suicide, depression, anxiety, etc).

The long-term effects that childhood bullying can have on your mental health and functioning as a child, and later in life (as an adult).
