After their highly praised 2020 album Blood & Stone, Sevendust returns with their fourteenth album, Truth Killer, their debut for Napalm Records. The band - Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Clint Lowery (lead guitar), John Connolly (rhythm guitar), Vince Hornsby (bass), and Morgan Rose (drums) focused on reconnecting as friends during the writing process, which led to fresh creativity. Recorded with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, the album features a mix of heavy and melodic sounds, as well as new electronic elements.
The album opens with "I Might Let The Devil Win," a slow-burning track that marks a departure from their usual sound, while the closing song, "Fence," brings the intensity Sevendust fans expect. Other standout tracks include "Truth Killer," which critiques society's aversion to the truth, and "Superficial Drug," a commentary on the emptiness of social media culture. With Truth Killer, Sevendust proves they're still taking risks and pushing boundaries, reaffirming their place in rock history.
