Multi-talented singer-songwriter and visual artist Natalie Goodwin will perform at Ascension Coffee House on Friday, August 8, 2025, 7-9 pm, in the Episcopal Church of the Ascension’s parish hall. Currently a Paulding County resident, she has lived and worked in Cartersville for many years.
Natalie found a love for music as a child. In college she was a vocal performance major but found it difficult to connect with Italian arias. She describes how she connected with music in her own way: “It wasn't until I took my first world music class that I found an excitement. I was in a marimba band and learned to play the Mbira and travelled to Ghana to study at the University in Accra. It was there that I took such amazing classes as ‘highlife’ guitar, African drumming, and African dance. I picked up the guitar when I was 17 and found an instrument that was a perfect fit. I have been performing and playing music ever since. Today I perform at charity events, local festivals, local songwriter events, and church. My music is soulful with a hint of folk and blues.”
Rick McKee will serve as musical host in the parish hall at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 205. W. Cherokee Avenue, Cartersville, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sweets and beverages are available on-site. You may bring your dinner or snacks for your table. Admission to Ascension Coffee House is free, but cash donations are gladly accepted for the Clergy Discretionary Fund. Donations of toiletry items are accepted for the Red Door Food Pantry.
