Los Straitjackets 🎸 rock the instrumental scene! Formed in Nashville in the late '80s, they met Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Mike Campbell in the '90s, opening shows after his praise: “They sound like the early Beatles… if they didn’t sing.” 🥁 Their “combo” sound wiht two guitars, bass, drums—echoes the '60s Cavern Club vibe.

Not just “surf music,” their influences span Dick Dale's surf-attack, Link Wray's proto-rock, The Ventures hooks, and Booker T. & The MG’s groove, with a nod to The Cramps punk energy. 🌊 They’ve toured globally for 30+ years, backing vocalists like Nick Lowe for over a decade.

Current lineup: Eddie Angel(guitar) 🎸, Pete Currybass/drums) 🎸🥁, Chris Sprague (drums/guitar) 🥁🎸, and Greg Townson (guitar) 🎸Danny Amis(guitar) 🎸 stepped back due to health but remains a founder. Their latest album, Somos Los Straitjackets recorded with Alex Hall at Pete Curry's Powow Fun Room and in Chicago, features originals like Greg Townson’s “High Wire Act” and Eddie Angel’s “Numbskull,” plus re-recordings like “Cry for a Beatle,” tributing the Beatles’ combo sound. 🎵

With shimmering tremolo, killer grooves, and catchy hooks, *Somos* is a love letter to rock’s past and a bold present statement. 🤘
