Coin Press No. 1 Demonstration and Minting of the V&T Railroad Commemorative Medallion

Come watch history in action and listen to the compelling story of the Carson City Mint. This Saturday, Coin Press No. 1 is minting the Virginia & Truckee Railroad Commemorative Medallion. Featuring an engine of the old V&T line on the obverse and Coin Press No. 1 with the famous CC mint mark on the reverse, this half-ounce medallion is minted from .999 fine silver, encased in a protective air-tight capsule and displayed in decorative matting. Get your finished medallion in the Museum Store or purchase a voucher for a silver planchet and watch it be struck on Coin Press No. 1 with your own eyes! Planchet sales begin at 11 a.m.
