The lesson will be on making jewelry using Apoxie Sculpt. I will provide information about the clay, its properties, and some suggestions for projects. I will provide the clay and will bring some cutters, clay rollers, colorants, and texture stamps. These items will be provided at no cost to you. I will bring some bezels and some crystal chatons (the ones with the pointed back). I will charge my replacement cost for some, and others will be offered free of charge. Projects using cutters, or freeform pieces can be made without a bezel.
Please bring the following.
Task light and magnification if you generally require it
Small, pointed paint brushes (at least a couple would be good)
Bring these items if you have them:
Small clay rolling pin
Pointed tweezer
Bezels – Hobby Lobby generally has a good selection. Catherine may bring some, and Reyne will have some.
Objects to Embed in Clay - (Optional)
Crystals – the ones with a pointed back (chatons) are best. Needed only if you want crystals in your project. Catherine may bring some, and Reyne will have some.
Tiny seashells, stones, grommets, things found in nature, etc. Anything you might want to embed in your clay.
Colorants – Reyne will provide a variety. If you have any of the following they can be used.
Pearl Ex Mica Powders
Iridescent eye shadows
Rubber color ink pads/stamps
Gilders paste
Oil paints
Textures
Texture stamps (Reyne will bring a variety)
Other items that can be used to texture the clay
Items from nature
Filigree – Can really enhance a project. Bring some if you have in your stash.
Come prepared to just play and have fun creating. I really look forward to this adventure with you.
