Visit the charming seaside town of Whitehead and experience the magic of steam at our historic Whitehead Excursion Station, dating back to 1907.
Climb aboard for a short heritage train ride—hauled by our 105-year-old steam locomotive, No. 3BG "Guinness"—and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of a bygone era as you travel along our own track, right here on site.

During your visit you can also enjoy;
A short heritage steam train ride (please note there is an added cost for this at £5 per adult/ £3 per child) however admission to the main museum is free as part of the EHOD celebrations.
Booking is recommended if you wish to have a train ride otherwise walk-ins are welcomed if you are just accessing the museum.
🚂 Train departures every 30 minutes from 11am to 3pm (excluding 1pm)
Tickets must be booked in advance to secure your preferred time slot.
Please note: this is a short demonstration ride within the museum grounds — the train does not leave the site.
