The Scottish Wildcat – one of Scotland’s most iconic and beloved wild animals. Yet habitat loss, persecution and hybridisation have driven it to the brink of extinction.
“Clinging by a Claw”, created by Saving Wildcats and produced by SCOTLAND: The Big Picture, offers an extraordinary insight into the journey of Scotland's wildcats from the brink of extinction to their return to the wilds of the Cairngorms National Park. Narrated by Outlander star Sam Heughan, this film captures the breathtakingly beautiful landscapes of the Scottish Highlands where wildcats could have a future if they continue to receive the vital support they need. Thanks to The European Nature Trust for their support with the making of this film, this heart-warming story takes you into the lives of these rare and elusive animals, revealing hidden moments never seen before.
