Open House at Carnegie Performing Arts Center

Carnegie Performing Arts Center will host a Free Open House on Saturday August 16 1-3 pm. at its studio located at 500 Chestnut Street in Carnegie. The public is invited to see the  dance space and children can try sample classes for the upcoming fall semester.  Free sample dance class will be offered at 1:30 p.m. for children ages 2-4. At 2:00 p.m. there is an age 5-7 sample dance class and at 2:30 m. there is a sample 8-10 year old dance class. Sample dance classes will include pre dance and ballet  hip hop fun  and jazz and lyrical.  
There will also be children's crafts as well as giveaways. Past performance costumes will be on display and a chance to see pointe shoes up-close meet some of our talented CPAC dancers and participate in some dance fun! 
  Registration for the fall semester will be held the following Monday August 18 from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday August 20 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday August 23 from 2-5 p.m.  While RSVPs are not required you can call or email in advance to receive a fall brochure. 
Continuing this year will be a dance competition class offered for students of the school for ages 7 - 18.  Team Forte director Becca Steinmetz who has led the competition team to many gold and platinum awards will teach the class.  The class will be held on Tuesdays during the school year with competitions held in April and May.  Participants must be students currently taking dance classes at the Carnegie Performing Arts Center. 
As in past years the Carnegie Performing Arts Center offers a full schedule of dance classes including ballet tap jazz lyrical hip hop modern acting and piano and drum lessons.  There are also opportunities for children to participate in 4 full productions.  The first is the ballet the Nutcracker in December the play Sleeping Beauty in February the ballet Beauty and the Beast in April and the school Recital in June.
