Town Hall series - Kalamunda: Alcoa's plans for WA's Jarrah Forests

Alcoa plans to bulldoze over 11,500 hectares of WA's precious Northern Jarrah forests, and for the first time in 60 years of operating, their mining is open for public comment and Western Australians will get a say.

Join a panel of experts and concerned locals to learn about the threats of bauxite mining on the Darling Range, our drinking water and iconic endangered species, and how you can get involved in the campaign to end forest mining

You'll have the opportunity to listen to speakers on the topic of deforestation & habitat loss, air and water contamination, life by the refinery, First Nations perspectives, nature based recreation tourism, and the WA environmental approvals process and how to have your say.

You'll also be guided to submit a comment during the Alcoa Public Environmental Review period, which closes August 21st 2025.
