About the event

Trauma-Informed Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Practitioner Programme
Join us for a day of learning and growth as we explore how to support mental health safely, effectively, and compassionately.

About this Event

This CPD-accredited 1-Day programme equips you with practical tools to recognise and respond to people experiencing mental health challenges or crises — with confidence, compassion, and clarity — while maintaining your own wellbeing.

💡 Why Trauma-Informed Matters

Traditional MHFA training focuses on recognising signs and signposting.
Our trauma-informed approach goes further — it recognises how stress and trauma affect the nervous system and shape the way people feel, behave, and recover.

You’ll learn why people struggle, what’s happening in the body and mind, and how to respond in ways that create safety, trust, and connection — the foundations of psychological safety and effective support.

🌿 The Strong Horizons Approach

Our CPD-Accredited Trauma-Informed MHFA Practitioner Programme blends evidence-based practice from neuroscience, psychology, and trauma-informed care.

You’ll learn how to:
• Recognise signs of stress, distress, and poor mental health
• Respond safely, ethically, and effectively — even in crisis situations
• Refer appropriately and maintain healthy boundaries
• Build supportive workplace cultures where people feel safe to talk
• Protect wellbeing and performance through early intervention
• Understand your own nervous system and the power of co-regulation in supporting others

You’ll leave not only with practical MHFA skills but with a new understanding of how safety, connection, and compassion sustain mental health — in yourself and those around you.

Limited to 12 participants to ensure an interactive, high-quality learning experience.

🧭 What’s Included

• Full-day in-person training (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• CPD-accredited Trauma-Informed MHFA Practitioner Certificate — valid 3 years (8 CPD hours)
• Comprehensive course materials and practical resources
• Refreshments and lunch included
• Supportive, inclusive learning environment

🕊️ Why It’s Worth It

Investing in mental health training is an investment in people, culture, and performance.

Workplaces that prioritise wellbeing see measurable results — a £5 return for every £1 spent on mental-health initiatives (Deloitte, 2022).
Beyond the financial impact, the results are human: fewer absences, higher morale, and healthier, more resilient teams that feel seen, heard, and supported.

When people understand why others struggle and how to respond safely, they make a genuine difference — one conversation at a time.

Invest in skills that save lives, strengthen teams, and create healthier horizons for all.
