Flower Hammering for Kids
Drop-Off Class for 1st–5th Graders at Clark Organic Farm
https://www.clarkfarmcarlisle.com/clark-farm-education
Join us for a vibrant, hands-on afternoon of flower hammering—a creative and energetic activity where kids use real flowers and leaves to make beautiful botanical prints on fabric using kid-sized hammers!
This is a drop-off class designed for school-aged kids (grades 1–5) who are ready to explore the farm, get a little noisy, and create something truly unique. We’ll start with a guided walk around the farm to forage and harvest dye plants, stopping along the way to feed the pigs, chickens, sheep, and goats. After collecting our materials, we’ll gather in the barn for a demo on how to safely hammer flowers to transfer their natural pigments onto fabric.
Kids will learn eco-friendly printing techniques and take home their own custom-printed organic cotton bandana, made with materials they gathered themselves.
What’s Included:
- One organic cotton bandana, pre-treated for light and color fastness
- Kid-friendly hammers and ear protection
- A brief farm tour and flower foraging session
- Step-by-step guidance on eco printing and flower placement
Important Notes:
This is a drop-off class for 1st–4th grade participants only.
This is a noisy activity—ear plugs will be provided, but if your child is sensitive to loud sounds, this may not be the best fit
Please send your child with a snack, water bottle, sun and bug protection, and farm-friendly shoes.
