A night of live music performed by 3 local bands reforming for this very special event.
Exit-43 - Formed in 1981, five Carlisle friends who all went to the same school and who all lived within a 1/4 of a mile of each other. They began writing songs immediately. Their own blend of post punk, rock-pop, with hints of Killing Joke, The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, Echo & The Bunnymen, U2 and Simple Minds, to name just a few influences gave this band an exciting and sophisticated sound right from the get-go. The band experienced some success around Cumbria, South West Scotland and further afield including some gigs in London and some college/university dates. The band recorded many times at studios including the famous Strawberry Studios in Stockport. In 1986 they employed the production skills of the late-great Michael Chapman who believed Exit-43 had the potential to go all the way with their quality song writing and unique arranging skills. Exit-43 also owned and ran the legendary ‘Cottage Pie Studio’ in Carlisle.

In 2021 the guys realised it was their 40th anniversary since they began, and still the best of friends, they chose to re-ignite Exit-43 from 40 years ‘on ice’ and started rehearsing again. Some songs were not completed, some needed tweaking. But what became apparent is their music has not dated, far from it, that classic 80s can be heard today in bands like, The 1975, Inhaler, The Snuts, and The Night Cafe. The lads are now much older, wiser and are better players, with years of experience gained since the band’s hiatus in 1991. 2025 now sees Exit-43 taking on the unprecedented task of beginning to play gigs and record their extensive catalogue of powerful songs, more than a generation since they began.Daylight Rush
