Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release technique that involves using a cylindrical foam roller to apply pressure to specific muscles and soft tissues throughout the body. It is an effective method for reducing muscle tightness, alleviating soreness, and improving flexibility and range of motion.
Hosted by Amanda Chretien, registered massage therapist, the 90-minute How to Foam Roll Effectively workshop explores how to use a foam roller correctly to target key muscle groups in both the upper and lower body. Amanda will cover essential techniques, common mistakes to avoid, and how to incorporate foam rolling into your recovery routine. Whether you’re an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or simply looking to move and feel better, this session will provide practical knowledge to help you maximize the benefits of foam rolling.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll feel confident in using a foam roller effectively, understand when and how to apply pressure for optimal results, and leave with a routine you can easily integrate into your daily life.
How to Foam Roll Effectively takes place on Sunday, September 28 from 9:30am to 11:00am. The class size is limited to 10 people to allow for one-on-one guidance. The cost of the workshop is $20. Members receive a 10% discount.
50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Lanark County Food Bank — The Hunger Stop.
