Crazy Quilt Making with Cardiff Sewing Social

The Sewing Social is going to start doing workshops!

About time, I know

In this session we will be using my overflowing tiny scrap box to create a small crazy quilt.

What is a crazy quilt? well, it's a method of quilt making that favours ingenuity over maths. Crazy quilts (weren't always) were made by folk who would've have less money and access to larger pieces of fabrics. see here for a lush example

For this workshop everything will be handsewn in the traditional fashion of Welsh quilt making. It can be a little tough on the hands if you have joints that are disagreeable

This workshop is aimed at giving you the skills to start your quilt making journey. These little quilted squares could be added to a boring tote bag, a knackered pillow case or a patch over an elbow

You are more than welcome to bring your own scrap pieces but as per all materials are provided.
