In-person CPD Training for Counsellors & Psychotherapists
Join us at Chapter Arts Centre for a practical and interactive training day on working with clients online. Whether you are just starting to see clients virtually or looking to develop and expand your clinical practice, this event will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to work safely, ethically, and effectively in the digital space.
We’ll explore:
• Key ethical considerations for online therapy
• Best practice for confidentiality, boundaries, and consent
• Practical tools and strategies for engaging clients on screen
• How to adapt your therapeutic presence to the online room
This CPD is designed to be informative, participatory, and immediately applicable to your clinical work. You’ll leave with greater clarity, practical resources, and a stronger foundation for ethical practice online.
Who’s it for: Counsellors, psychotherapists, and trainees with any level of online experience
Early bird discount until 20:00 on 26th September 2025 (limited spaces)
Info: We’ll cover how to set a clear frame for online therapy, from first contact and contracting through to confidentiality, ethics, and technical security. Attention will also be given to the therapist’s professional presence online, including boundaries, digital footprint, and insurance.
Info: This session explores what presence means in online therapy and how to cultivate connection when cues are limited. We’ll consider ways to strengthen attunement, containment, and immediacy across distance.
Info: We’ll focus on the embodied dimension of online work, noticing how our online presence shapes the relationship. Alongside this, we’ll explore how to support client safety in their own environment, manage interruptions, and prepare for risk or crisis.
Info: This session addresses common online challenges such as disinhibition, ruptures, and third-party interruptions. Through case vignettes, we’ll explore how to respond constructively and bring together the day’s learning into a safe, relational approach.
