Come listen to some poetry ... and violin music! On Sunday, September 28, Confluence Books will welcome Bushra Elsnousi: by day he is a civil engineer working on his PhD at SIU; he is also a published poet. He’ll be reading from his latest book, The Human Experience, starting at 2 pm on Sunday, September 28, at Confluence Books, 705 West Main Street in Carbondale. Parking is
available off Forest Avenue. Copies of his latest book will be
available at the reading.
Elsnousi grew up in Sudan, bilingual in both Arabic and English. His
first book of poetry, Hills Along the Road, came out in 2016. For him, “writing poetry is my higher outlet. It has helped me through hardship and confusion, both innate and triggered.” Raised in a “very cultured home and a warm extended family,” he is also a lover of music and a fan of soccer (esp. Barcelona).
He has asked a friend to come and play violin ... more info on that to come. ;-)
