Depending on who you ask, Captiva Island is named either for the women held captive there by ruthless 18th and 19th century pirates or for the sirens whose otherworldly songs lured sea captains to the island's soft, sandy shores, where the enraptured men, having fallen prey to island's the many charms, inevitably chose to remain for infinity. Never to be seen or heard from again. Join us for the Capturing Captiva Scavenger Hunt, and decide for yourself which is the likeliest tale!

On the Capturing Captiva Scavenger Hunt, you'll witness firsthand the legacy of castaways on the island. You'll visit buildings erected by the very first U.S. homesteaders to set up camp in Captiva, and you'll tour brightly colored streets filled with the hallmarks of contemporary Captiva culture.

As you wander through sandy streets and sun-bleached dunes, you and your team will complete challenges that will help you tease out the island's deeper secrets. The tasks range from timed trivia questions that require keen observation to hilarious photo challenges that will bring out the performer in even the most camera-shy teammate. Everywhere you go, and everything you do during the hunt will ask the same question–can you and your team capture Captiva? Or will Captiva capture you? Discover the best sights in your city with your group and answer questions that can only be found in person, hidden on plaques, statues, art, and more.

Photo Challenges and Activities:

Each person will have an interactive role and will receive texted photo challenges and fun activities to enjoy with the rest of the group. Earn points for the best photos!

How it works:

1. You can start at any time you wish – this is a self-guided scavenger hunt.

2. The duration of each hunt is 1.5 to 2 hours.

3. Visit our website to purchase tickets.

4. Download our Let's Roam app from the Play Store or App Store. Register and redeem the tickets there to get started.

5. The app will guide you throughout the tour and the challenges you need to accomplish!
