THE HEETERS
Soul, R&B and Funk from the Bay Area, California. Deep grooves, tight three-part harmonies, and songs that will uplift your spirit. The Heeters is comprised of Tom Quell (vocals/guitar) and three members of The California Honeydrops (Lorenzo Loera on keys, Miles Blackwell on bass and Beaumont Beaullieu on drums). Lorenzo and Tom co-write the songs, which have that classic soul sound & those catchy hooks--with a personality that makes them still unique and relevant within the world of modern music.
PAPIBA & FRIENDS
Papiba & Friends, features three visionary and unconventional musicians with a long history of living and performing in Santa Cruz.
Guitar player, singer, song writer Papiba Godinho is the founder of one of Santa Cruz’s favorite local bands, SambaDá. Pabiba is also a capoeira mestre and runs a Brazilian cultural center in Santa Cruz, CA.
Bass player and vocalist Etienne Franc, aka roKsta OrKestra, has been performing locally and internationally for over 20 years. Etienne is a member of SambaDá, and Paradise Soul Savers and also serves as musical director at Inner Light Ministeries.
Gary Kehoe is a fixture of the Santa Cruz music scene. Some may remember him from the amazing world music group, Special Fun. Gary also plays in SambaDá and is also a featured drummer and percussionist with many other groups in town.
A collision of rock, soul, funk and samba with members hailing from Brazil, Minnesota and Brooklyn, this group takes current world music and stirs it up to create a refreshing new sound.
