When we dream, we create and experience the reality of the dream space and can embody multiple perspectives through the various dream figures. Thereโs no question in the moment about whether the dream is real or fabricated - we are having a direct, felt experience of its images. In this workshop, we will tap into that same capacity: the imaginal.
The term Imaginal refers to a specific, often misunderstood and hidden realm of experience - a subtle, symbolic, and meaningful inner dimension that exists between the unconscious and conscious. It is referenced in mysticism, depth psychology, and spiritual traditions as a realm of archetypal depth and transformative potential - one that can shift how we perceive reality and drop us into deeper presence beyond our ordinary perception.
The imaginal is not content we experience, but a way of perceiving - a lens through which reality is seen and shaped. Through this work, we will explore our own process of perception and the subtle fabrication of reality that constructs our experience of self, others, and the world around us. We will work with bodily felt senses and felt images to access deeper layers of mind and surface what is ready to be seen, felt, or integrated. If the collective field allows, we may also open into different qualities of presence such as expansiveness, clarity, joy, love, or compassion.
The workshop will include:
โฌ A collective meditation to attune to the body and the imaginal realm
โฌ Two guided imaginal practices with a short break in between
โฌ A closing Q&A and space to share experiences
Asyl Bauyrzhanuly:
Asylโs journey spans over a decade of rigorous practice, beginning with the Kriya and Tantra yoga traditions and later deepening through samatha and vipassana practices rooted in Theravada Buddhism. After many retreats and years of dedicated training, he chose to fully devote himself to exploring the nature of the mind, undergoing intensive training in the Rinzai Zen tradition at Korinji - Rinzai Zen Monastery. Today, he continues to practice within the Zen tradition, enriching his path with training in the mystical teachings of Sufism, non-dual meditation teacher programs, and somatic teacher trainings.
His work is rooted in the psycho-spiritual domain, where he practices and teaches direct methods for engaging the whole being - body, mind, subtle energy system, and heart. Asylโs approach is integrative, blending the rigor of disciplined practice with a deep sensitivity to the unfolding of inner experience and the natural flow of life. He invites practitioners into an embodied path of transformation โ one that honors the intelligence of the body-mind, nurtures presence, and expands perception beyond the ordinary as a gateway to the Sacred and Divine.
