We warmly invite you to the Annual Women in Philanthropy South Africa (WiPSA) Networking Breakfast, taking place in Cape Town at the end of August!
These gatherings are a cherished opportunity for our members to come together, connect meaningfully, and gain fresh insights from honoured guest speakers who are shaping the NPO landscape in South Africa. This year’s sessions promise to be especially energising. You’ll have the chance to engage in dynamic speed networking, learn from thought leaders and build valuable relationships with fellow members in the sector. It’s a space to share ideas, challenges, and inspire collective action in a supportive environment.
Our honoured guest speaker in Cape Town, Ilene Power, will share:
How resilience starts with shifting perspectives to overcome challenges.
How ethical leadership builds trust – leading with integrity to strengthen NPO credibility.
Seeing impact through an ethical lens by understanding and communicating meaningful outcomes.

Camille Hendricks, 28, is a strategic communications and digital strategist with seven years of experience, currently also pursuing law in South Africa. She is deeply committed to social justice, particularly addressing gender-based violence, and is the creator of a documentary ‘To Our Sons’, exploring the root cause of gender based violence. Camille’s research turned into a documentary confronts gender-based violence as fundamentally a man’s issue—rooted in how boys are raised and socialised. As mothers of the nation, we have both the influence and the responsibility to lead interventions that shape our sons into men who value respect, equality, and non-violence.
Ilene Power is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa with over 25 years’ experience as a labour lawyer. She is a certified Ethics Officer through The Ethics Institute, and holds international accreditation as both an arbitrator and a mediator. In 2023, Ilene transitioned from private legal practice into the non-profit sector, taking up the role of General Counsel at Unashamedly Ethical, a global movement committed to promoting ethics, values, and clean living. She leads the organisation’s legal, governance, compliance, and ethics portfolio, developing strategic interventions that embed ethical principles into decision-making and promote transformative change. She is also the founder of Ethics in Action, a consultancy dedicated to helping organisations institutionalise ethical governance, manage ethics risks, and foster a culture of integrity. Passionate about building a society where accountability and ethical responsibility are lived realities, Ilene blends principled advocacy with practical solutions. She equips leaders to navigate complex challenges with confidence, clarity, and integrity — always grounded in her belief that ethics is both a moral imperative and a strategic advantage.
