Live Nativity

Saint Francis Healthcare System will recreate the scene of Jesus’ birth with its outdoor Live Nativity. Come and experience the true reason for the season on Wednesday, December 10, from 5-7 pm. Invite your neighbors, friends and family to follow the Star of Bethlehem to the Saint Francis Cancer Institute (Entrance 6) and witness this truly special event.

Healthcare System colleagues, board members and volunteers will take on the roles of angels, Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. The event will feature live animals including cows, camels, four-horn sheep and of course a donkey.

Parking is available near the Cancer Institute.

FUN FACT: St. Francis of Assisi staged the very first nativity scene in 1223. After visiting the actual birthplace of Jesus in Bethlehem, he returned home to Greccio, Italy, and requested permission from Pope Honorius III to recreate the scene so that more could understand how it all began.
