Most people who get lost in the woods aren’t deep-backcountry explorers — they’re day hikers.
In fact, day hikers account for 42% of all search and rescue cases in U.S. national parks, and about 58-65% are men. This is unacceptable gentlemen.
Do NOT let ignorance get the best of you. Theory of navigation is simple. Application is not. It's like an MMA match. Taking classes is one thing, stepping into the ring, or the forest, is a whole other ball game.
Get prepared!

Why? Because they rely on phones, apps, and trail signs — until the battery dies, the fog rolls in, or the trail disappears.
