Annual Civic Lecture: 'Urban Flourishing - The Great Places Conversation'
The Canterbury Society's annual civic lecture is a popular event which attracts high quality speakers and we are fortunate this year to have Max Farrell, Founder and CEO of the LDN Collective which is a network of built environment experts & creatives, fighting to improve people's lives and the planet's prospects. Launching this year, The 'Urban Flourishing Initiative' is a new project to help tackle the big place-based, social and environmental challenges we are all facing. It brings together communities, experts and researchers to shape better places to live, work, and thrive.
The project will create a practical framework to guide how towns and cities can grow and improve. This new resource will be built using a mix of expert advice, public input, and tools like AI to make sure it reflects real needs and experiences. The result will be an open, evolving platform that helps shape better policies and planning decisions at both local and national levels – with the goal of making urban areas fairer, greener, and more inclusive for everyone.
