When Ren McCormack and his mother move to a small town in America's Bible Belt, he is shocked to discover that the local reverend has banned dancing. With the help of the reverend's daughter Ariel, and his new friend Willard, Ren tries to convince him otherwise.
With dynamic new songs augmenting the powerhouse hits from its bestselling Oscar-nominated score, Footloose celebrates the exhilaration of youth, the wisdom of listening to one another, and the power of forgiveness.
We will be holding a free audition session on Sunday 22nd June, 4pm-8pm, at Kingsmead School, Hednesford - open to adults and teens aged 14+. There are twenty-five named character roles to fill in this show, of a diverse playing age range from teenagers to 70s, open to all genders, ethnicities and body types.
On the audition day, you will be required to perform a verse and chorus of one of the songs from the audition pack you will be sent upon emailing. The rest of the workshop will consist of acting out extracts from the text, and learning a piece of choreography taught by our choreography team. If you have any special requirements regarding the dance section of the workshop, you can let us know either in advance or on the day.
