Mikelangelo & The Black Sea Gentlemen – Journey Through the Land of Shadows

Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen are an Australian quintet known for their compelling songs, irrepressible style, and their wildly entertaining live performances.

Since their formation in November 2000, the band has earned international acclaim – from headlining at the Sydney Opera House to selling out shows on London’s West End and playing major arts and music festivals right across the globe.

Now, after 3 years away from the live circuit, they return to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their definitive album Journey Through The Land Of Shadows — the record that cemented their place in both the Australian and UK music scene’s and showcases their distinctive blend of storytelling, dark humour and musical mastery.

Featuring fan favourites such as ‘The Wandering Song’, ‘One of those A minor Days’ and the unforgettable ‘A Formidable Marinade’, which have become a centrepiece of their live performances. This show promises to deliver echoes of European folk rhythms and melodies, mid-20thcentury popular song, spaghetti western soundtracks, sea shanties, old world circus music and other eccentric styles and old-world instrumentation.
