Local Gold showcases the best and latest original music acts in Canberra.
Hosted by lovable local rockstar, Pete Lyon, the three part show opens with a proven emerging talent and progresses to a headline set from a higher profile established favourite. Most acts are local, but it’s pretty Canberra to welcome visitors too, right.
Local Gold is intimate, fun and entertaining, with an emphasis on authentic artistic expression in original contemporary songwriting. So, if you love hearing local talent, new and old, raw or polished, make this a recurring appointment in your calendar!
Appearing Monday July 7th 2025:
Jacqueline Bradley, Alice Cottee and Ian Paulin.
Jacqueline Bradley is a visual artist, musician and songwriter. Having learnt fiddle from a young age, she took up banjo and guitar to accompany her singing and has recently realised her ambition to shake the tambourine. Jacqueline performs with the Everlastings, Kristabelle and the Southern Jubilee Ringers, the Black Mountain String Band, Fred Smith and Nick Delatovic and the Empty Lake Singers, as well as touring and recording with musicians and bands from across Australia.
Alice Cottee is hitting the refresh button. For over two decades, she has fronted bands Dollface, No Hausfrau and most recently punk-rock band Glitoris. Her raw songwriting and velvet-coated croon has penetrated hearts in venues and festivals internationally and at home including Woodford, WOMADelaide and The National Folk Festival. Alice is rediscovering her alt-folk roots; stripped back, acoustic, and vulnerable as f*ck. Joined by bff Monica Engel on vocals.
