Energy Efficient Demonstration Home tour

This demonstration home explains and shows visitors firsthand what they should look for to easily achieve a more energy efficient and sustainable home, that is more comfortable to live in and cheaper to run. It includes a range of sustainability features, such as:

Passive solar design to an 8.2 star rating under NatHERS
Double and triple glazed thermally broken aluminium windows
Sustainable materials, e.g. compressed timber cladding, Australian and recycled timbers
Good draft sealing and insulation
No downlights
Efficient appliances
A grass driveway
A green roof
And much more…
At this tour, Paul and Jodie will also explain how the house was wrapped and sealed, using their demonstration trailer as a visual tool.

This tour is being run by Paul Nagle from Commonsense Sustainability Solutions and Jodie Pipkorn, in collaboration with SEE Change and the Suburban Land Agency. Paul and Jodie are also running a monthly workshop series for the Suburban Land Agency: Suburban Land Agency Workshop Series
