The Australia Ecuador Friendship Association (AEFA) warmly invites the Canberra community to join us for our very first
Ecuadorian Folkloric Dance Workshop
Have you ever wondered about the vibrant and diverse dance styles of Ecuador?
We are proud to bring to Canberra this exciting cultural experience — the first workshop of its kind in our city!
Facilitated by the talented dancer Susana Solis from Riobamba, Ecuador, this workshop will introduce you to the basic steps of four traditional Ecuadorian dances:
• San Juanito
• Aya Huma
• Chola Cuencana (from Azuay Province)
• Bomba del Chota (Afro-Ecuadorian dance from Imbabura Province)
Through these dances, you will embark on a cultural journey into Ecuador’s rich history, discovering the beauty of movement, rhythm, teamwork, and above all — fun!
No dance experience required — everyone is welcome!
Open to all ages: adults and children alike.
What to bring: a water bottle, towel, and wear comfortable shoes.
