Bal Vihar Trial Classes – Weston
Our classes aim to inspire children to become the best version of themselves through stories from the Hindu scriptures. We draw attention to the values embodied by noble characters such as Shri Raama, Krishna, Hanuman, Ganesha, and Devi—focusing on their virtues rather than just the narratives.
Each session includes engaging activities like art, craft, chanting, singing, and drama—chosen to deepen the understanding of the values explored that day.
Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, the visionary behind these classes, believed that “Children are lamps to be lit, not vessels to be filled.” Guided by this principle, our goal is to spark curiosity—not merely to provide information.
The Bal Vihar program, run as part of the Chinmaya Family initiative at the Florey Temple in North Canberra, has been warmly received by the community. In response to requests from families in South Canberra, we’re offering three free trial classes in Weston to gauge interest.
📅 The first session will be held on 3rd August and will include an information session and demonstration.
