It’s a wintry Sunday in Canberra. You wanna go outside, but then immediately inside. So, you go to Downer Oval. You see a ragtag bunch of musicians, journos and their mates kicking a footy. You join in, it’s fun. You take a mark you didn’t think you could. You feel amazing. Somehow, it’s 4.30pm and you could go a drink and some hot chippies. You walk across to Gang Gang with your new pals and hear the first few notes of a sound check. You settle in for some cosy local music. You mutter to yourself: this is alright. Someone hands you a sign-up sheet and a choice: do you wanna play for The Limestones or The Noise? Or a secret third thing: do you just wanna maybe join a mailing list so you can keep coming to casual kicks and cosy local gigs? You smile. Take the pen. The chippies arrive.
We’re so back.
We’re launching our 2025 season in the spirit of the game: with quality local music and a kick of the footy. We’re talking casual kicks from 3.30pm, then sets from

Reclink Australia provides structured sport and rec programs to improve life outcomes for those experiencing homelessness, social isolation and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Their biggest annual fundraiser is The Reclink Community Cup - a much-adored charity football match pitting musos against media.
Our 2025 Canberra Community Cup will be at Alan Ray Oval in Ainslie on Sunday, 14th September, where The Limestones (musos) and The Noise (media) will go head-to-head.
