Roots and Boots Gala to Benefit Community Center
“Remember your roots, Live in your present and look towards the future”
The Roots and Boots Gala is an eagerly anticipated event scheduled for Sunday, June 1st, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. This special occasion will benefit the Camptonville Community Center, marking its 10-year anniversary. For an admission donation of $10.00, guests will receive one complimentary cocktail, beer, or wine, along with access to a hearty appetizer and dessert bar. Additional drinks will be available for donation.
Event Highlights
This gala is designed to celebrate the rich history and vibrant community spirit of Camptonville. The event will feature a variety of food and drinks, a touch of historical reflection, and an assortment of fun activities.
Dress Code
To add to the festive atmosphere, guests are encouraged to dress in any era that has influenced Camptonville. Whether you choose to come as a miner, a logger, a cowboy, or a farmer, or even as a can-can dancer, a flapper, or a futuristic visitor from outer space, your participation will enhance the enjoyment of the evening. While this themed attire is not mandatory, it is certainly welcomed.
Why Roots and Boots?
The inspiration for the Roots and Boots Gala comes from the observation of the many types of boots that have walked and worked on this land, from miner’s boots to logger’s boots, rancher’s boots, farmer’s boots, and explorer’s boots. Coupled with the wisdom of the Nisenan Grandmother’s saying, “When the roots are strong, there is no need to fear a wind storm,” the theme takes on a profound significance, celebrating the resilience and strength of the community.
Volunteers Needed
The success of this fundraiser relies heavily on the support of volunteers. We are in need of cooks, bakers, and individuals to assist with the décor. Please consider helping us make this event a triumph. Sign-ups will be available at coffee gatherings beginning in May.
