The IGNITE! Teacher Professional Learning Conference will empower primary school educators with the skills and confidence to incorporate dynamic new art making units into their programs.
Designed to inspire and ignite their creative teaching practice, this hands-on workshop series will introduce fresh ideas and innovative teaching strategies for Visual Arts. Aligned with the New South Wales (NSW) Creative Arts Curriculum, the program will explore engaging ways to foster creative expression while upskilling teachers in using diverse materials to create striking student artworks.
Led by experienced Artists and Visual Arts Educators, participants will discover exciting new ways to engage learners of all ages and abilities in creative classroom activities. Through exploring a range of art making materials and techniques that cross the boundaries of painting, drawing, printmaking, collage and sculpture, participants will learn new ways to push the boundaries of art education.
Teachers will be guided through the current exhibition at Campbelltown Arts Centre, with experienced gallery educators offering insight and strategies for unpacking contemporary artworks with young audiences to help students engage with artworks in a meaningful way.
By the end of the course, teachers will leave with practical skills, fresh and inspiring ideas for units of work, and ignite a renewed passion for fostering creativity and critical thinking in their students.
