We are excited to invite you to a masterclass with one of the UK’s top sommeliers and wine connoisseurs, Dario Poddana, on Wednesday, July 23rd, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
During this event, you will explore natural and organic wines from Lazio, paired with traditional dishes from the region. This is an experience you won’t want to miss!
MEET DARIO PODDANA
Dario Poddana is British-Italian, although born and raised in Germany.
After a college post-graduation in Arts, he started working in the food and wine industry, playing an active role in the creation of Slow Food International, and in the creation of famous international food and wine shows like The Big Hall of Taste, Terra Madre and Cheese.
A few years later, he decided to move from press and marketing into the wine industry, and started working both in production and sales for a quite renowned Barolo winery.
Having always been keen to traditional styles, sustainable viticulture and terroir driven wines, after having spent 6 years, the opportunity came to broaden the horizons.
In 2005 Dario started working for Les Caves de Pyrene, the UK’s (and probably Europe’s) most important importer and distributor of what today are called Natural Wines – there was no clear such definition back then, although the ideas of conscious production, growers that keep their land and traditions alive, promoting wines that taste of a “place”, and not of a “factory”, alongside with the discovery of the powers of biodynamics, built his wine-mind-shape since.
During pandemic, Dario became responsible for the Terroirs Project withing les Caves de Pyrene, an innovative vision on low-intervention wines, creating a range of products in cooperation with several prominent growers all around the globe that are authentic, fresh, terroir-driven and approachable to a new generation of curios wine drinkers.
