About the eventThe Schubert Ensemble Next Generation
After many years of performing together, The Schubert Ensemble strings are back on stage, this time accompanied by their children. The Schubert Ensemble Next Generation ensemble have been playing together since the ‘next generation’ began to learn their instruments, and are delighted to be performing their set piece: Mendelssohn’s Octet! They will also be performing Bach’s Double Violin Concerto (soloists: Emma and Louisa Paterson) and Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending (soloist: Aki Blendis). Please join us for an exciting evening of family music-making in Jesus College Chapel, Cambridge! The setting is particularly special to the ensemble as Douglas, Jane and Simon all studied at the University of Cambridge and Emma, Lizzie and Louisa are all current students of the University. They are delighted to be joined by Sarah Henderson, another current student of the University.
