This session is all about the importance of rest. Drawing on the latest research, you'll learn how to rest more, rest better - and stop feeling guilty about it. We'll cover:
What “real rest” actually is – and the difference between deep rest and micro-rests
What happens in your brain when you rest, including how deep rest supports memory, focus, emotional regulation and long-term health
Why modern life makes rest so hard, especially for busy women juggling multiple roles
Why smartphones are one of the biggest enemies of rest – and what to do about it
Simple ways to weave micro-rests into a busy day.
There will be opportunities to ask questions.
We’ll then move into a 20-minute guided meditation designed to calm busy minds and gently settle the nervous system. This will be a blend of mindfulness, soothing breathwork and yoga nidra–style guided imagery. Sit comfortably as you’re guided step by step into a state of deep relaxation.
What to bring: the meditation can be enjoyed while seated in a chair, but if you prefer to lie down, please bring a yoga mat, and perhaps a blanket and cushion for your head so you can get super cosy!
Non-members are welcome for a £5 donation.
