The Newnham Popup Speakeasy

Tonight we present three very different styles of jazz for you.

They will feature three sets with different configurations of musicians, meaning that there's always variety and interest throughout the evening for you to enjoy. It promises to be a memorable evening in a real jazz club setting.

The Speakeasy will kick off as usual with Dennis Cox's 'Speakeasy Allstars' and their brilliant special guest Lilia Lucas on vocals.

The second set will be led by Cambridge’s King of Beebop Andy Bowie on Tenor Sax, supported by one of the best rhythm sections around.

Finally we are very pleased to announce the return of Derek Scurll on Vibes featuring our very own Alastair Appleton on Tenor Sax and Alex Tsourgranis on jazz guitar.

These events have become very popular, so please come early to get the best seats and tables. There is no admission charge but we will pass a glass around to help with our expenses - please bring some cash.
